Nice article Chris. I thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciated the experience of a fellow Midwesterner coming out to Colorado to chase dreams created out of a book. For me, I was inspired by Alison Osius’ Second Ascent about Hugh Herr. I read the descriptions of hanging off painful finger locks and thought, “cool!” You probably know that Kor’s wife still lives in Glenwood. My wife Joy worked with her at the hospital and shared some good, and sad, stories together.
Thanks, Mike. Totally appreciate the feedback. I didn’t know you were Midwest stock! Solid. Yeah, Jeff Jackson told me Joy was still living in Glenwood. Wonder if she remembers those two kids who showed up on her doorstep.
Last week in the car on the way home from Seneca Rocks I read this article (don’t worry, I subscribe to Rock and Ice!). Something about the time frame (exactly the same years I was in college) really struck a chord. This week I’ve downloaded several enormocasts & enjoyed them – thanks!
Judith,
I hope you weren’t driving while you read it! Thanks. I’ve gotten a lot of good feedback on that. I really appreciate it. It was something I wanted to write about for many years and R and I gave me an opportunity.
As for the podcast, keep listening and tell some friends to get on board.
