When we left the boys in the last Episode, they had just summited the Trango Tower via the 2nd ascent of Cowboy Direct. In this installment, the summit emotions and revelations come fast and furious as well as the realization that hits every alpinist on the summit: “Oh, shit, we still gotta get off this MF!”. Spoiler: the guys get down safely but the grind doesn’t stop at basecamp. Finally, the spa in Islamabad was the perfect ending to an outrageous trip for Jordan, Jesse, and Matt.

On Episode 227 of the Enormocast, I sit down in a van (his) in Rifle with return guest Jordan Cannon. Jordan’s career continues to flourish since his last appearance on the Enormocast with Mark Hudon and his first appearance back in 2018. The main topic on the table is Jordan’s saga with freeing Golden Gate on El Cap including his one day free ascent last year. We also talk about being a professional climber, Jordan’s evolving relationship with is mentor and best friend Mark, and finally, his recent coming out as gay and how that public revelation has changed his life. Jordan seems to represent a lot of what’s great and noble about climbing and its always fun to hear from him.

Episode 175: Mark Hudon and Jordan Cannon’s Excellent Adventure.

On Episode 175 of the Enormocast, I sit down in the Mobile Studio parked under a rainy Moab sky with Mark Hudon and Jordan Cannon. Mark and Jordan are on a great Western road trip and prepping for Mark’s attempt on the Freerider on El Cap. But here’s the thing, Mark is 63 and Jordan is 24 which makes them an odd generational couple. Hudon was a legend in the late 70s for attempting to free climb the Salathe Wall with Max Jones. If he pulls off the Freerider, Mark will certainly become the oldest climber to free El Cap and his story will come full circle to realize his ambition from 1979. And Jordan, almost as much as Mark, is determined to make that happen.
