Episode 302 of the Enormocast is the annual airing of grievances in climbing: the laments, the beefs, and the sad truths of the dumb shit we do as climbers. What was formerly known as Taps is now Last Rites. Once again, this year’s slam evolves from listeners’ calls. Andy Salo, Andrew Bisharat, and Mary “Token girl” Harlan join Chris to dole out advice, ethics, and perform last rites for the dying trends in climbing we’d like to see live on. We also mark a few things for extermination. Ryan Devlin of the Struggle Podcast stops by, too. On this year’s docket: chalkbag carabiner (again), bitchy looks and girl-on-girl side-eye, downgraders, soft routes in the gym, trad-dads, and much more. Finally, we propose our start-up idea: need a belay on the proj and all your bros are out golfing? Call a Beluber. As usual, the laughs come fast and furious, but leave your sensitivities at the door because one of your sacred cows is likely headed to the butcher.

Luv The Enormocast but respectfully call last rite’s for Last Rite’s. Maybe it’s the whiskey but you guy’s just sound like a bunch of junior high kids with all the giggling and swearing. Crusty here.
True. But still one of the highest downloaded shows and laughing is fun. Just skip it.
The beluber influence expands into running 😉
‘Like Uber for Runners’: App Aims to Keep Women Safe With On-Call Running Mates

This is really cool, actually. Sounds like more of social app than a business. I wonder how thoroughly the folks are vetted? Beluber would probably feel pretty sketchy, too, if you were ordering one at some lonely remote crag!
https://beluber.com is live! We’re raising capital for an April 1 beta release of our app and to protect the world from this important intellectual property. See the investor relations section of our website for more details on the proposed anti-business model.
OMG. I’m laughing my ass off while I call my lawyer…
Dude, the best. Rapping around the mic dropping knowledge. So funny man. Unique and ponderous. Thanks yet again!
Thanks! And thanks for the call. I hope we went easy enough on you.
